ROC Amsterdam and Azure & ITPH Academy work together
Digital skills are an important part of any job. Organizations from small to large work more in the cloud. Not every employee has sufficiently developed the required competencies. To offer Amsterdam employees the opportunity to develop their IT skills and prepare students for their future jobs, the ROC of Amsterdam is starting the Azure Academy.
The Azure Academy, developed by IT educator ITPH Academy and Microsoft, consists of short-cycle education programs that focus on working within the cloud environment of the Microsoft platform Azure. From basic IT skills to complete internships. ITPH Academy and the ROC of Amsterdam work closely with Microsoft for the training. Azure Academy will be part of the regular IT courses (level 2 to 4) of MBO College Zuidoost. In addition, workplaces, companies and institutions can have their employees retrained and retrained in line with today’s requirements. With the extensive offer, participants can improve their basic skills, but also develop into Azure experts.

The digital economy is growing fast. The demand for employees with digital skills is increasing rapidly. There are 4750 vacancies for IT professionals in the Amsterdam metropolitan region. The most requested job group in the region, after business economics and technical professions.
Increase job opportunities
With the new curriculum, the ROC of Amsterdam wants to increase the labor market opportunities of students and employees. first is the transfer to an Associate Degree of HBO courses. “With Azure Academy, we are preparing ourselves optimally for the digital workforce and the opportunities of the future in the Amsterdam metro region and beyond. Supply and demand
With the broadened educational offer, the ROC contributes directly to the objectives of House of Digital, a collaboration between the municipality of Amsterdam, the ROC van Amsterdam – Flevoland, the Hogeschool van Amsterdam and a few dozen companies. It shares knowledge and develops new study programs to ensure that education is properly aligned with the demand from the business community.
