Florence, asks for a glass of water and steals the takings from the pizzeria
He entered the Florentine restaurant and, with the excuse of a glass of water, stole the proceeds. He was arrested yesterday evening, Sunday 23 January, on suspicion of improper robbery a 38-year-old Georgian citizen.
According to what was reconstructed by the police officers of the Florence Police Headquarters, around 7.45 pm the man would enter a pizzeria in via Gioberti asking an employee for a glass of water. As soon as the woman moved away to accommodate the 38-year-old’s request, the latter would be opened the cash register drawer by grabbing the banknotes inside. With a booty of 120 euros in cash, the man fled chased by the owner of the business and another employee who had given the alarm at 112 NUE.
The steering wheel intervened on the spot and blocked the 38-year-old, in the meantime reached in via Cimabue by his pursuers, also hit with kicks during his last attempt to avoid arrest before the intervention of the Police.
The stolen goods were all recovered while the man ended up in handcuffs, awaiting the validation hearing to be held today during the direct call at the Court of Florence.
