“How can you feel? You feel sad that this piece of land is still isolated today. The second step towards unification was taken in 1918. I hoped that all would be well, that we would be together forever. But the Russians won’t let us, it’s sad“, Believes Valentina Miron.
“For each of us, our birthday is important, because it is also God’s chance to see this world. And January 4, 1859 is the birthday of Romania and has a very important importance, because this 2 days appeared and December 1, 1918, it was also March 27, 1918. That January 24 united us, laid the foundations and it has a special significance for those of us who are now separated from the country, from the Romanian people. I came from Straseni, it’s 35 km, it’s not so much for this holiday “, Nicolae Robu from Straseni told.

“163 years ago, by a wise decision of the then Legislatures, Alexandru Ioan Cuza was elected prince of Moldova and lord of Wallachia, thus laying the foundations of modern Romania. At the same time, this year is an extremely important one, because today we also celebrate 160 years since the date when the first Government of Romania leads Barbu Catargiu came into office (…). That moment laid the foundations of modern Romania, of democratic Romania, a Romania that was created around the Romanian nations. It is an opportunity to say that we will continue to believe in our dear Romania, modern Romania, democratic Romania, Romania which is currently a member of the European Union and NATO and Romania which has, is and will always be with the Republic Moldova, which we also want with us, in the great European family”.
