The governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, is paying a federal law regulating the capture of stray animals after a 7-year-old girl due to dog attacks. This is reported RIA News with reference to the press service of the region.
“Unfortunately, there are exceptions in the law that do not allow us to remove dogs from the streets of certain places. I have spoken about this many times. We will appeal to the Federal Assembly, the State Duma, the Government of Russia with the development of this law,” Osipov said.
The nearest government specified that stray dogs would be promptly removed from the territory, and a regional meeting of the commission on alleged situations with the heads of all adjacent territories would be held.
It is noted that lamps have been installed for residents. Particular attention will be paid to the garbage collection schedule, which attracts stray dogs.
The tragedy in the Trans-Baikal Territory became known on January 22. The seven-year-old girl was bitten by stray dogs when she returned home. The body was found in one of the vacant lots. Upon the fact of the birth of a child, a criminal case was initiated under parts 2 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“negligence”).
