The Committee of Italians Abroad of San Marino changes its face: Alessandro Amadei is the new president. A native of Morciano di Romagna, he will be joined by the other members of Ad Maiora, the list that had supported him, at the helm of a committee whose task is to give voice to the requests of a community of 16 thousand Italians and to act as a hinge between the institutions.

Amadei, vice president of Comites in the last mandate, was already very active in relations with Italian entities, especially the municipalities bordering the republic of Titano. “Contact with them has always been a central point and my goal is to further strengthen relations – he comments -. Already in 2020, the designer organized the Dialogue Forum, together with other associations, with the mayors of neighboring municipalities and now we will try to increase collaboration, to manage and organize cultural events and more. For example, we moved together with them when they asked Italy for a supply of Sputnik vaccines, during the second wave of covids, which had already arrived in San Marino. it speaks of cultural initiatives, of questions related to tourism and of cross-border commuters, then, there is always dialogue “.

Amadei will be flanked by the vice president Barbara Righetti, by the executive member Barbara Rossi and by the secretary Debora Cenni. The issue of cross-border commuters will be one of the main topics on the agenda for Comites, which will address most of the initiatives to the topic: “Despite the achievements of recent years, they are not yet treated in the same way as other workers. For example, they cannot apply for work permits under law 104, they do not enjoy social safety nets if they have not had contracts in place for at least three years and now hiring by direct call is much more complex, because first employers have to draw on the job placement lists San Marino citizens and, in any case, a foreigner, should motivate the choice. The Frontier Movement dissolved years ago. The frontier movement involves 100 thousand people in Italy, so we will insist that the State create a general statute that applies to everyone. From the San Marino side, we will continue to press to allow more rights to frontier workers, who are still very many in neighboring municipalities, despite the losses working time for the pandemic “.

In addition to relations with local municipalities, the priority issue for the Comites will be that of citizenship: “To become a San Marino citizen, there is still the obligation to renounce original citizenship. In 2022 we will talk again because the Secretary of Stato all’Interno has declared that it will present a reform bill, as Secretariat, and will also discuss with us. Still on the subject, already in the previous mandate obtained the right to vote in the elections of Castello, the equivalent of the Italian municipalities. also made direct signatures to the Prime Minister, the last last week, to ask Italy to recognize Sputnik, given that several fellow citizens have vaccinated themselves with it and would not like to have a mixed vaccination, in addition to the fact that for they need a Green pass that is also recognized beyond the San Marino borders “.

As regards relations with the Marche, Amadei has already planned to ask the President of the Region for a meeting: “At the level, many health problems have not yet been resolved, such as access to the emergency service from San Marino for emergency residents. at the border, on the Italian side, which can only use it in the event of a red code.
