A heavyweight which was on the rest area of Port Lauragais, south of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) caught fire this Sunday at the start of the afternoon. Matthieu-Son Lasnier, flight instructor, immortalized the fire from the sky.
This Sunday, January 23, around 3 p.m., Matthieu-Son Lasnier was on board a passenger plane, giving a flying lesson, when he saw a thick column of smoke south of Toulouse. Intrigued, the 26-year-old young man leaves his student at the controls of the device: the instructor then takes out his camera.
He then immortalizes the fire of a heavy goods vehicle which took place this Sunday, at the beginning of the afternoon, on the rest area of Port Lauragais. The machine, which was not carrying any hazardous material, justified fire near a service station.
The column of smoke that escaped from the vehicle was visible for miles around. The fire accidentally caused no injuries but damaged three other heavy goods vehicles nearby. The firefighters who moved to the scene of the incident had to maneuver with caution, petrol pumps being nearby.
