Super League: Broken arm alarm in the FC Zurich test match against FC Wil
It is the dress rehearsal for Super League leaders FCZ before the start of the second half next Saturday: the test kick against FC Wil on the Heerenschürli in Zurich-Schwamendingen, the new headquarters of the city club.
The main rehearsal succeeds in terms of result: 1:0 victory. After two draws, it is the first win in a friendly this winter.
For Wil player Argtim Ismaili (22), the trip to Zurich will be a disaster. After 20 minutes, the midfielder falls unhappily on his left arm – and it’s immediately clear that Ismaili is badly injured. Broken arm alert! Wil-Captain Philipp Muntwiler is immediately at Ismaili’s side and says to Blick after the game: “The forearm didn’t look good.”

Ismaili was immediately taken to the hospital to be checked whether his arm was really broken. Is broken again! Only last September, the unlucky Wiler broke his forearm against Kriens.
And Zurich? Thanks to an early goal by Willy Gnonto (5th), FCZ defeated their opponents from the Challenge League 1-0. A mini win that could have been slightly higher if the chances had been evaluated better. But Blaz Kramer sinned several times in the end, substitute Salim Khelifi failed in his first action on the post. Long-range shots from Blerim Dzemaili or Bledian Krasniqi hiss over Wil’s goal.
In the last test, however, coach André Breitenreiter had to do without a whole range of potential players alongside top scorer Assan Ceesay (with Gambia at the Africa Cup of Nations): Guerrero, Tosin, Marchesano, Hornschuh, Coric, Omeragic and Leitner are all missing. Either because they are still in corona isolation or because they are ailing. The club does not break down the reasons.
In contrast to Omeragic or Coric, there is no trace of the first-named absentees among the Wil-Kick onlookers.
