“Jessy Deminguet a huge margin for improvement”
At 24 (since last January 07), Jessy Deminguet is (already) living her fifth season with the pros of SM Caen. The captain of the Rouge et Bleu is having a season that places him in the top three of the best passers in Ligue 2.
This does not mean that his coach is satisfied with it. Not that Stéphane Moulin is disappointed with the performance of the Lexovian but precisely that he considers his potential at its true value.
“I’m happy with what he’s doing but I told him: when I consider that on a scale of ten you can get to eight, I can’t be satisfied with six. He has a huge margin for improvement because he he is a boy who is complete. It is rare to have a boy who is able to attack, defend, who has volume and who is able to repeat high intensity efforts, who has a good foot, who sees the game and who is technically comfortable.
It is therefore a relatively wide palette. He is able to score goals. He doesn’t score enough. So my goal is for him to continue his progress.”
It is also with this in mind that Stéphane Moulin named the captain’s armband to the one he considers to be “a pillar of the team“who, by belonging to the region “must become the identity of the club“.
The armband is also a way to show him how important he is. He’s a boy who needs that. Stephane Moulin
Launched into the deep end of the pros in Ligue 1 in Marseille (5-0), Jessy Deminguet has since accumulated in five seasons nearly 123 games with his training club. The native of Lisieux sees himself as someone who is rarely satisfied and who wants more. He understands and shares his coach’s expectations.
“I totally agree with him. We talked about it. Obviously, I think I can still try to look for some goals and assists with a view to helping the team. And I think I have some the possibility. You still have to look for more to have more chances to score and make assists. I think that’s a bit of my role.”
With his range of play and this talented left foot, Jessy Deminguet can once again claim to play in Ligue 1 in the long term. He must seek a little more in his game and his character. “Now it’s up to him to write his story. He has everything he needs to take the leap. I have no doubts about that“says Stéphane Moulin.
