Hristo Ivanov is the only candidate for leader of “Yes, Bulgaria”
Hristo Ivanov – the resigned chairman of the “Yes, Bulgaria” party, is the only candidate for chairman of the party before the upcoming National Conference of the party.
This is clear from the published in pariah site information for the candidates for the forthcoming conference.
“Yes, Bulgaria”, which is part of the association “Democratic Bulgaria”, gathers on January 29 to elect the governing bodies – chairman, National Council, National Control Commission.
Although there are 133 candidates for the party’s National Council and 14 for the Control Commission, the only candidate for leader remains Hristo Ivanov, who resigned after the November elections.
The reason for this was the poor electoral result of “Democratic Bulgaria”, as well as the loss in the “personal” battle that Ivanov fought against the MRF candidate for Veliko Tarnovo Delyan Peevski.
Hristo Ivanov has been at the helm of “Yes, Bulgaria” since the party’s founding, and even after his resignation, many speculated that he would eventually retain the leadership post.
The leaders of the other two parties in Democratic Bulgaria, the Green Movement and the DSB, also resigned. Their congresses are scheduled for February and March.
