GGD GHOR Nederland asks the umbrella organization of the GGDs to cooperate with the Open Netherlands Foundation (SON) in order to be able to catch the big test. Reports previously appeared in the media about this upcoming collaboration with SON, to which the commercial test providers are affiliated. Starting next week, they will start providing additional capacity with antigen testing. This is to monitor the infections caused by the omikron variant of the coronavirus.

The commercial test providers of SON use antigen tests validated by RIVM. At the GGD test locations, PCR tests are used.

If, when making the appointment, it appears that a GGD in a region no longer has a place, the option to choose another test provider will automatically appear. It is always possible to make an appointment with the GGDs. Due to crowds, it can happen that people have to travel a little further than have to wait a little longer.

Rising test question
The current test question has been done and to greater heights has been done. In addition, the capacity for PCR tests is limited to around 150 thousand. The GGDs are working hard to take as many tests as possible. The GGDs, for example, deploy personnel who have assisted in the booster campaign from the test organization in the past month. This concerns staff at the test locations as well as in the call center. In addition, the GGDs continue to need new staff, extend opening hours and open new test locations. This allows the GGDs to move along with the test question.
