Laboratories in the Czech Republic detected 26,597 newly infected covid-19 on Friday, twice as many as a week ago. Another 3,076 people became infected with coronavirus repeatedly. The worst situation currently prevails in Prague and its surroundings. The seven-day incidence, ie the number of people infected in the last seven days per 100,000 inhabitants, climbed to 1,353.

In the Czech Republic, 26,597 coronavirus infections occurred on Friday. One week ago, the laboratories detected 13,220 infected on the same day, which is twice as much in the week-on-week comparison.

For others 3,076 people confirmed reinfection on Friday. This includes patients with a positive PCR test with a minimum interval of 60 days from the previous confirmation of the infection. 58,669 people came to be vaccinated on Friday. There are currently 1,566 patients in the hospitals, of which 214 in serious condition.

Seven-day occurrence got to value 1 353 confirmed cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. Currently, the most infected are reported by Prague and its immediate surroundings. The Prague-West district has more than 2,500 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. Prague-East reports over 2,450 new cases and the capital 2,153. On the other hand, the districts of Bruntál (466 cases) and Tachov (553 cases) are the best.

The total number of confirmed cases exceeded 2.73 million, of which over 351,000 infected were people aged 65 and over. 37,021 people died with coronavirus. Below you will find statistics for individual regions based on data from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic.
