Between two planes, we heard from Paris Lee before Orléans Loiret Basket – Monaco
League leading passer (7.8 per game) after a dazzling season last year in the jersey of the OLB, Paris Lee joined Monaco this summer where he discovered the Euroleague in a bloated workforce. Captured this Friday, January 21 between two planes transporting him from Saint Petersburg to Loiret, the American leader took the time to answer a few questions before his return to the sports hall, this Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m., to play the 17th day of Betclic Élite.

Paris, how are you before playing a fifth game on the road in ten days?
“I’m fine. The trips are a bit tiring, but I feel physically fit. I’m especially excited to come back to Orléans, see the coach, the staff, my former team-mates and the supporters.”

How is the life of a professional basketball player in Monaco?
“The climate is very pleasant, the sea is at our feet, there could be distractions. But we are very busy, we don’t really have time to enjoy it. In reality, we go a lot returns with travel.”
It was rather difficult to switch roles. But I try to stay positive, to focus on what’s important: winning.
You considered the main chef of Orleans last year; your role in Monaco is less. How did you experience this change?
“To be honest, it was quite difficult. When you’re used to something and you have to change it, it’s hard. But I try to stay positive, to focus on what’s important: winning. I’m putting everything else aside to win at all costs.”
Are you keeping an eye on the OLB season?
“It’s not easy to watch all the games, but I watched the one against Le Mans. Otherwise, I watch the summaries. I saw that they had a very good series, but that they are now “Today in a difficult period, with two players absent. I’m not worried, I’m sure they will bounce back with the coach and the staff they have, there’s no doubt.”
What kind of match can Monaco expect tonight?
“The OLB staff already proved it last year: even with a reduced squad, Orléans is capable of competing with top teams. I am convinced that it will be a difficult match for us.”
