Attention: work is being done here (Antwerp)
The Roads and Traffic Agency (AWV) will be carrying out maintenance work next week on the road surface at a number of highway locations in the Antwerp area. The works will be carried out in the evening and at night in order to limit the nuisance to traffic.
Work will be carried out on the E19 in Loenhout, the A12 in Zandvliet, the Antwerp Ring in Antwerp-North and on the E313 near Antwerp-East. AWV locally renew the top layer of asphalt of the road surface at those locations
The works will start on Monday 24 to Tuesday 25 January between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on the E19 in Loenhout direction Antwerp. “The exit lane to the Loenhout exit will be renewed over a distance of more than 400 metres. At the construction site zone, traffic on the 19th is directed over one lane,” says Stefanie Nagels of the AWV. During the works, the Loenhout exit will be closed, traffic in front of the exit will be diverted via the Brecht complex and can turn there.
On Tuesday night, work will be done on the . from 8 p.m A12 in Zandvliet towards the Netherlands. The highway will be temporarily closed just after the Zandvliet exit. Traffic in the direction of Bergen op Zoom is guided via the Zandvliet exit along the parallel road to the A12 and can even rejoin the A12 after the border crossing,” says Nagels. There will be no disruption to traffic on the A12 in the direction of Antwerp.
Two nights
The works on the Antwerp Ring in Antwerp North be spread over two nights. “On Wednesday and Thursday nights, work will be done on the loop from the R1 to the A12 in the direction of Bergen op Zoom from 10.30 p.m. to 5.30 a.m. During these nights, the connection to the A12 will be completely closed,” says Nagels. Traffic is redirected via the E19 to the Kleine Bareel complex to turn around in the direction of Antwerp and then take the exit to the A12.
Finally, Friday night work will be done on the connection of the Antwerp Ring to the E313/E34 direction Hasselt. Traffic must pass in one lane at the construction site zone. Traffic on the Ring in the direction of Ghent must then continue to the Borgerhout complex to turn around. The ramp to the E313/E34 from the Noordersingel (R10) is signed.
“Asphalting works are very sensitive to weather,” says the AWV. “The current schedule may change in case of rain and/or cold temperatures.”
