Ukraine will receive more than 40 million doses of COVID vaccine
There are currently 11.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine available in Ukraine, and more than 40 million doses will be provided under contracts and under the COVAX mechanism.
This was announced by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko at a meeting with journalists, Ukrinform reports.
“We now have 11.5 million doses of vaccine in stock. 25 million doses of Pfizer have been contracted for delivery. Also 6.5 million doses of Coronavac vaccine, and 10 million doses under the COVAX mechanism,” Lyashko said.
He investigated that several scenarios for a repeat course of basic treatment against COVID-19 were being considered. it is necessary, depending on the dynamics and mutations of the coronavirus, vaccination can be carried out in the same way as against influenza – on the eve of the SARS epidemic season.
“The biggest waves: October – November and late January – early February or mid-February – March. Therefore, vaccinated against coronavirus, probably like the flu – August, September, October. We have protection and then vaccinated again,” said the head of the Ministry of Health.
According to Ukrinform, the initial vaccination campaign in Ukraine is another 15,109,351 people, of whom received two doses – 14,410,730, booster dose – 17,360 people.
