Toulouse. Conference on Climate: Jean-Luc Moudenc’s proposals

Thursday January 20, on the occasion of the Climate Conference which brought together experts, urban planners and elected officials, Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse, President of Toulouse Métropole, announced new measures to strengthen and accelerate the action of the Metropolis for the climate.
Measures for less polluting travel or better management of energy consumption demonstrated there, such as:
For less polluting journeys
– Doubling of the desired budget for the bicycle bonus.
– Implementation of an action plan in favor of urban logistics, to support companies in terms of travel, deliveries, etc.
For better management of energy consumption
– Doubling the number of energy renovation advisers made available by the Métropole, to encourage the renovation of housing, district by district, municipality by municipality.
-Technical support by the Métropole for the renovation of company buildings.
Toulouse Métropole continues its commitment
– Systematic installation of solar panels on the new buildings of the community and continuation of the photovoltaic equipment of the existing buildings.
-Strengthening of the energy renovation plan for the heritage of the two communities and generalization of the more eco-responsible public procurement approach, to limit the ecological impact.
Finally, to extend the mobilization around the environment, “the Climate Conference will now meet, once a year, local and national experts in order to follow the progress of the Climate Plan”, informs us the Metropolis, which specifies that a training system on the environment “will be set up within the Town Hall of Toulouse and Toulouse Métropole, to involve agents and elected officials”.
