TOULOUSE

Sale of plants, guided tours, blood donation… What to do in Toulouse this weekend?

Sugar Mizzy January 21, 2022

Toulouse is not to be outdone when it comes to weekend outings and activities. The Independent Opinion gives you five ideas for having fun alone, with friends or family. But first, a quick look at the crooks of Meteo France. Despite a light mist on Sunday morning, the weather will be rather sunny cth weekend. On the other hand, the temperatures will be very low, even negative at the start and end of the day. Morality: cover yourself well to make the most of the activities!

1 # Take advantage of low-cost guided tours

This is an opportunity not to be missed. For a month, theToulouse Tourist Office freezes the prices of its guided tours. An ideal opportunity to (re)discover the pink city through anecdotes from knowledgeable guides on the history of the pink city, which has many surprises in store. Would you be tempted by the heritage walk to admire the most beautiful monuments or by unusual visits to unlock all the secrets of Toulouse or the major criminal cases? Warning, This offer is valid until February 4. Meet at the Tourist Office, located in the Capitol keep. Count 8 euros per person with the code FREEZE2022 to be indicated when making your reservation.

2# Escape with Reading Night

Notice to reading enthusiasts. Saturday January 22, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Library of Toulouse offers a new edition of the reading night. To participate, go to Empalot and José Cabanis media libraries. On the program: workshops, guinguette, escape game and above all conferences… Enough to spend a magical and enriching moment at the bend of the marvelous universe of literature. Please note that due to the Night of Reading, and in order to best prepare for this magical event, the participating media libraries will only open their doors at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 22.

3# Go donate your blood at the Capitol

This outing is for a good cause. What could be better than taking a few minutes out of your weekend to save lives? For four days, Rotary-Clubs of France, in partnership with theFrench blood establishment (EFS), organize a large blood drive in the salons of the Capitol. An important event, especially in this health context marked by low attendance at collections, mobilization for blood donation is crucial. Appointment Friday 21 and Saturday 22 January from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Note that the health pass is not required to donate blood. 3,000 donors are expected at the Capitol: why not you?

4 # Attend the opera “Carmen”

“Carmen” is the most popular opera in the world and one of the most moving. The Capitol Theater offers the opportunity to attend. It tells the story of music which, like the famous gypsy, sings of freedom, even if it means burning everything in its path; a tragedy of fate, where a woman confronts her destiny to assert her independence… For their first Carmen on stage, the magnificent Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Eva Zaïcik alternately embody an incandescent and unforgettable character. A performance will take place on Saturday at 8 p.m. More information and reservations.

5 # Buy plants at mini prices

A new sale of plants is organized this Friday until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. In Toulouse. In total, no less than 4,500 indoor plants, of more than 120 different species, will be offered at a minimum price. An opportunity in or to vegetate your cocoon. Cactus, green plants, terrarium or even very large plants… There is something for everyone… And above all for all budgets. Plants will be offered from 1 euro ! Meet at 5 John Fitzgerald Kennedy Street. Registrations here.

Bonus: it’s always the sales ! Between the cold and the bargains, here is a good opportunity to have fun in stores and shopping centers. Take advantage, they will end on February 8 next.
