Promotions Peloton

Shares in exercise bike maker Peloton plunged 23.93% to $24.22 in trading on Jan. 20. The reason for the fall in prices was news that the company is suspending production of exercise bikes and treadmills for two months due to declining global consumption, high prices and competition.

In 2020, the popularity of Peloton skyrocketed as the population gobbled up companies during the lockdown to train at home, but now consumption has declined. The company did not guess with the volume of production, and now it has simulators in warehouses.

However, in a memo to staff, CEO John Foley wrote that “the rumors that we are ending the production of bicycles and tracks are false” found out Bloomberg. According to Foley, the information taken out of context contains a false impression and that the company has identified the source of the leak.

On the morning of January 21, Market Rebellion tweeted that Peloton was going to buy Apple. “Apple is reportedly looking to acquire Peloton,” Opportunity wrote.

Netflix financial statements

Report Netflix, released on Thursday after the close of trading in the US, showed that the rate of subscriber growth for the company’s services was slowing in 2021. Last year, Netflix added just 18.2 million new customers, half the number of its record-breaking 2020. The result was also lower than in the pre-COVID 2019 year, when the company reported subscriber growth of 27.8 million.

Against this background, the company’s shares collapsed on the postmarket on January 20 by 20.22%, amounting to $404.5 per share.

The fourth quarter was Netflix’s most anticipated of the year, both in terms of subscribers (+8.2 million) and revenue ($7.71 billion). Revenue grew by 16% compared to the same period a year earlier and almost coincided with analysts’ expectations ($7.72 billion). Net income per share (
earnings per share

) estimate of $1.33, beating the consensus estimate of $0.84.

For the first quarter of 2022, Netflix expects revenue growth to $7.9 billion and earnings per share of $2.86 per share. The inflow of new subscribers is expected at the level of only 2.5 million, which is well below analysts’ expectations of 5.7 million.

“A company may maintain its aspiration market leadership, but new and significant drivers are consumed to grow its supply. There are no points for entering a long chain in the observation zone because of the beautiful risks,” said Pavel Gavrilov, an expert at BCS Express.
