Thursday afternoon, on the occasion of the sixth national edition of the Nuits de la lecture, the Ausone-Libraire Mollat Station received more than 150 high school students from the Bordeaux metropolis, from four vocational high schools and a general practitioner.
Anne Bisagni-Faure, rector of the Bordeaux and New Aquitaine academy, opened the session by insisting on the need to develop school reading times based on the vade-mecum published by the rectorate “We read and on sharing! “.
Questions and dedications
For this first event of Reading Nights, the guest was David Foenkinos, famous novelist, screenwriter, director and playwright. After talking about his literary career sprinkled with a few anecdotes, the microphone circulated in the room among the high school students. To the relevant and quite personal questions of some, the author responded with great precision and sincerity to a dozen interventions.
As the fingers continued to rise, the ax of time had fallen, resulting in a glimpse of a little frustration on the faces of some youngsters. It was necessary to leave room for the sequence of dedications. The queue was long but the high school students succumbed to the patients… and the impatient to leave with a souvenir of this meeting.
