Prague deals with comments on the amendment to the decree on the protection of public greenery. They apply to cyclists, dogs or barbecues

Currently, cyclists are only allowed in the parks if a cycle path is marked there. Vratislav Filler, the author of one of the initiatives, has been involved in cycling in the capital for a long time. He points out that the routes to the park often lead and end there. According to the rules, the cyclist should continue to lead the bike. However, this does not make sense, for example, in large areas, such as the Central Park in Stodůlky:
“I suggested there that parks be set aside in which cycling would be allowed. Because, of course, there are parks where it doesn’t make sense. In the city center, for example the Kinský Garden. ”According to spokesman Vít Hofman, the municipality is addressing this proposal, and the draft decree already envisages that the owner of public greenery may mark routes for cyclists beyond the cycle routes.
Free movement of dogs and barbecue facilities
As before, the free movement of dogs is prohibited in public greenery, with the exception of places on the map. However, the new decree will also apply to land that has not yet fallen under public greenery, such as areas in some housing estates. However, the city districts could suggest where the owners would be able to walk their dogs without a leash. Newly, it is almost the entire Central Park in the South City or along U Kunratického lesa Street in Prague 11.
Other comment topics included the issue of public barbecue areas. Prague 3 recently opened it. After complaints from the locals, it had to close one such space in the park of Židovské pece, says representative Matěj Michalk Žaloudek from the Greens: Sometimes some groups go there and it is not easy to get them out. At the same time, there is an operating code that says they should end at eight o’clock. I think that the operating rules should be in this decree. “
According to the spokesman of the municipality, Vít Hofman, however, this point will probably not be included in the decree, because these places are subject to the obligation to observe a period of rest at night. The final form of the decree will be approved by the representatives of the capital at the earliest in a week.
