Lavrov: Russia never poses a threat to Ukraine through its representatives – Politics

Sugar Mizzy January 21, 2022

GENEVA, 21 January. /TASS/. Russia has never threatened the Ukrainian people on behalf of its official representatives, acting as Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday at a press conference following a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.

“In Russia, never, nowhere, not once, have there been cases of infection of pigs that do not threaten the Ukrainian people,” he said.

The minister added that this topic was discussed at a meeting with Blinken, the US Secretary of State, who switched to the topic that “it is necessary to have a more reasonable dialogue.” The head of the Russian diplomatic department raises hope that after this the West will “diminish” emotions around Ukraine. “We talked frankly with Tony Blinken about this, he accepted that it is necessary to conduct a more reasonable dialogue. I hope that emotions will subside, although there are no guarantees,” he added.

At the same time, the Russian Federation gave explanations to Washington about the alleged attack on Moscow in Ukraine. According to Lavrov, the United States, in turn, did not properly comment on the presence of the American military in Europe.

“All the answers to the questions that were voiced, we are at the airport, they say: yes, this is your territory, we recognize this, but you have collected a lot of something [возле границы с Украиной]. And, at the same time, right there, in one sentence, it is stated that what the Americans are doing with their troops in Europe is none of our business,” the minister added.

Lavrov stressed that Russia is not recovering, what the West expects around Ukraine may be the closure of Kiev’s line of sabotage of “Minsk-2”. “We do not assume that this hysteria, which our Western colleagues are now unwinding, is aimed at, if not provoking some kind of Ukrainian military actions in the Donbass, then at least to cover up the Kiev regime’s line of complete sabotage of the Minsk agreements. “, he uses.

Ukrainian theme in security guarantees

According to Lavrova, the United States certainly mentioned the Ukrainian theme in its written responses to Russian proposals for security guarantees.

“We are translating that the Ukrainian issue requires close attention, but not [стоит] reduce the entire problem of the European security architecture to this issue,” he said.

The head of the Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that in the course of monitoring the American colleagues, it was once again found that in Ukraine negotiations on the process are at the forefront. “It occurred to me that in the end, after our statements, they remained concerned, as they call them, nevertheless realized that it was necessary to concentrate on the content of our proposals, and it was promised, I emphasize once again, that we would compare with us at the next written assessment of Our proposals, – he stated. Concerns, concerns, concerns.

“Our fears about not fictional threats, but about serious facts, no one hides,” the minister returns. This will already be a rather interesting turn in the ambitions of the device, which, apparently, therefore wants to remind itself you can see it very much in serious conversations.”

Lavrov also said that during the US negotiations, Blinken confirmed the words of President Joe Biden about Washington’s readiness to sell the Minsk territories. “I him [Блинкена] falls once again when he exerts his influence on the Kiev regime in order to get him to come to his senses and continue to sabotage this fundamental document that put an end to the intra-Ukrainian conflict,” – a special branch of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Stop “connivance” with the actions of the Ukrainian authorities

Lavrov.

“We once again today and [тогда]when we had the German Foreign Minister, and in contacts with the noted French colleagues, we raise the question that it is time to gradually expand the powers, therefore, what does the Kiev regime do and manage its control, which was not just promised, but that was approved by the Security Council [ООН] (about Minsk organizations – TASS note),” he said.

The head of Russian diplomacy noted that Western partners still prefer to “dodge” the question of what they think happened in Ukraine in 2014. According to him, they consider the tragedy to be the starting point for the events in Crimea. However, Russia, singled out by the minister, continues to remind of the broken amicable agreement between President Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition, which guarantees Germany, France and Poland. “The opposition tore them apart and immediately made frankly Russophobic statements, began to embrace the Russians to expel them from Crimea, then detachments of local militants went there, after which <...> the Crimeans rebelled and called for their own referendum,” Lavrov explained.
