Kuchl expands kindergarten to elementary school

After an extraordinarily strong birth cohort in 2017, the municipality of Kuchl (Tennengau) now has to build a new kindergarten. The previous kindergarten building will be converted into the new elementary school. A total of 50 kindergarten children should then be cared for.
A housing estate with 40 units is currently being built on the Bernhofer grounds. The municipality is building a two-group kindergarten for 50 girls and boys on an area of 150 square meters.
2017 strong birth cohort
The existing kindergarten “Villa Kunterbunt” is moving out of 22 containers with wooden extensions, because elementary school children will be employed here in the future. “In 2017 we had an incredibly strong birth year in Kuchl, which is very gratifying. Now we need space for an additional kindergarten and above all for the elementary school that follows,” says Mayor Thomas Freylinger (ÖVP).
Completion planned for autumn 2023
The cost of building the new kindergarten is around one million euros. Completion is scheduled for autumn 2023. The municipality of Kuchl bought the multi-purpose container in Großarl (Pongau) for 650,000 euros. These have already been used there as alternative quarters for kindergarten children and teachers and also as an elementary school.
