I just got caught up
– An excellent period of the Stary Theater, excellent plays, holy directors. If only it’s my happiness.
I just got tangled up – says the photographer jokingly.
– It was the first time I documented a performance by Mieczysław Kotlarczyk. Someone who was supposed to take pictures fell ill. Call a friend who worked there: “Wojek, save me!” During the next 2-3 months I got a collaboration with the old Teatr Słowacki and Ludowy Theater. So in six months, steel is in line with the theatrical action. Have yourself photographed at the rehearsals of general performances when it was ready and everything is ready. There was energy in it. Completely different, when the performance had its premiere, then the exhibitions – recalled Wojciech Plewiński,
From a frog’s perspective and from a ladder
– I was interested in cinema, with time I got more and more involved in the theater. I started getting acquainted with directors. Andrzej Wajda was very keen on the pictures. Probably only a director who treated photography and photographer so well. Working with him was great. There were times when we swapped roles and he was carrying my tripod. I finished for the Stary Theater, he photographed the performances of Jerzy Grzegorzewski. It was important to keep the director and actors. It was then possible to compose a given scene in a different light, a different place, without distorting the director’s intention – adds the photographer.
– There is no one point of view and one truth. They were safe to social directors as a headquarters, so I did. Then I was already running around. Often from a frog’s perspective and from a ladder – says Wojciech Plewiński.
