European Professional Club Rugby | Toulouse determined to bounce back
After falling against Wasps, Stade Toulousain, reigning European champions, will try to win their ticket to the round of 16 on the last day of the group stage of the Champions Cup.
Sacred in 2021, Toulouse will seek to reach the round of 16 with a victory in Pool B. The Rouge et Noir have won their last 10 games in the competition at Stade Ernest-Wallon. Their best home streak is 19 consecutive wins, between 2001 and 2006.
This Pool B match, which will kick off on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., will be broadcast live on beIN SPORTS.
Key points :
- Toulouse will face Cardiff for the 12th time in European competition; only against Edinburgh and Leinster have the TOP 14 club played so many games.
- Toulouse have won all four of their home games against Cardiff in the Champions Cup, although the last time they hosted the opponents was in December 2009 (23-7).
- Cardiff have won just two of their last 11 Champions Cup (L9) away games; however their last away win came in France, against Lyon in 2018/2019 (30-21).
- Cardiff have conceded 16 penalties per game on average in the Champions Cup this season, more than any other team, while Toulouse have conceded the third most, averaging 13.5 penalties per game.
- Cardiff’s Theo Cabango has averaged 17.7 meters per run in the Champions Cup this season, more than any other player to complete more than 10 runs in this 2021/2022 campaign.
