The Republic of Moldova has a new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration
Moldova has a new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, more than two months after the resignation of former official Vladislav Kulminski. The portfolio was taken over by Oleg Serebrian, former ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Germany. The diplomat took the oath today in front of President Maia Sandu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa.
MAIA SANDU, President of the Republic of Moldova: “We are talking about our task of identifying a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the Transnistrian conflict. A solution that respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and a solution that results in a functional state ”.
NATALIA GAVRILIŢA Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova: “You. you are a diplomat with a rich experience, a modest, wise interlocutor, exactly the qualities needed to manage a complex file in a difficult period. I am confident that the team is stronger and will benefit from the rich international experience ”.
Oleg Serebrian is a writer, historian, political scientist and diplomat. He has taught in major European cities at the European Institute in Nice, the National School of Management in Paris, as well as the Universities of Edinburgh and Birmingham. Oleg Serebrian also has extensive diplomatic experience and has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to France, Germany and UNESCO. The new Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration has acknowledged that taking office is a professional challenge for him.

The post of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration has become vacant after Moldova’s chief negotiator in the Transnistrian settlement process, Vladislav Kulminski, announced his resignation on November 5, 2021, citing personal reasons.
