SARAJEVO (Reuters) – Slovenia and Croatia reported on Wednesday a record high daily number of new COVID-19 cases, with both countries finding it difficult to process results amid growing demand for testing.
Slovenia recorded 12,285 new infections and Croatia 16,017 new infections, including rapid tests.
The number of cases in Croatia, a country of less than 4 million, has more than doubled in the last 24 hours, with 45 deaths.
Slovenia, which recorded a 41.5% jump compared to the previous day and almost 80% more cases than last Wednesday, has shortened the quarantine for employees in health, social care and education to enable them to function normally.
