Romania proposes to the Republic of Moldova a new agreement for the provision of technical and financial assistance
On Wednesday, the Ciuca government approved the draft agreement on providing technical and financial assistance to the Republic of Moldova. The document was sent to Chisinau for the start of negotiations, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu.
Minister Bogdan Aurescu announced that at the meeting of the Romanian Government on Wednesday, the draft agreement between the Romanian governments and the Republic of Moldova on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program based on a non-reimbursable financial aid granted by Romania to the Republic of Moldova was approved.
Immediately after the approval to the Romanian Government, the draft agreement was sent to the Republic of Moldova, in order to initiate negotiations.
“The renewal of the legal framework for granting non-reimbursable assistance reaffirms Romania’s commitment to support the modernization and strengthening of the resilience of the Republic of Moldova. The future Agreement will provide a solid framework for the implementation of projects that will contribute to the intensification of the cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova and the development of the Bilateral Strategic Partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the Agreement will allow the intensification of the actions meant to support the connection of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union through Romania, the promotion of the reform process in the European spirit in the Republic of Moldova, and the promotion of the economic and social development of the Republic the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, according to Mediafax.
The previous agreement expired on March 28, 2021.
