Portugal-France 2022 Crusade Season: 5.4 million euros to unite cultures – Culture
More than 200 projects and around 480 events, to be held in 84 French cities and 55 Portuguese cities and towns. This is how the Portugal-France 2022 Cruzada Season will be, a cultural initiative organized by the two, whose programming covers areas of the oceans, gender equality and youth, explored through shows, exhibitions, concerts, conferences, gastronomy and festivals.
The season, taking place in February and October of this year, has one million euros, of which 5.4 million are invested by France and 2 million invested by the Portugal budget, distributed and private, such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The official opening will take place on February 12, with the concert ‘La Mer’, at the Paris Philharmonic, by Maria João Pires, repeated by Orquestra Gulbenkian.
The presentation of the schedule ran this Tuesday in a streaming session from Palácio da Ajuda, in Lisbon, and from the Eiffel Tower, in Paris. “Culture, hit by the pandemic context, tends to play the main role in the relaunch of our economies”, said Graça Fonseca, Minister of Culture.

Between the 3rd of May and the 30th of October, the Museu Nacional do Traje, in Lisbon, will show the photography exhibition ‘Living your life, Georges Damrier and Fashion’.
