In the Toulouse academy, only the establishments of Haute-Garonne affected by the strike on Thursday
A new strike movement in national education is launched this Thursday, January 20 at the call of the Snes-FSU, of the SNUIPP, the CGT, FO, Sud-Solidaires, high school student unions and the FCPE, the main federation of parents of pupils. One that will be much less followed than last week when the unions counted 80% of striking teachers and one in two schools closed. In the Toulouse academy, the strike movement will only really be followed in Haute-Garonne.
The objective of this day is to redirect that the proposals of Jean-Michel Blanquer after the massive strike in mid-January are absolutely not satisfactory. The Minister of Education has announced that 8,000 people will be called in as reinforcements in schools, at least until the end of the school year. These are contract employees, educational assistants and administrative contractors. The minister also announced the availability of “5 million FFP2 masks” for kindergarten teachers on request.
Some schools in Toulouse could be closed
Generally and nationally, according to the unions, this strike movement will only be followed in the largest metropolises. Some schools in Toulouse could therefore be closed, but this will be on the margins. The union which mainly organizes a tow in front of two schools in Toulouse (Marengo-Périole and Bénézet) so that the parents also participate in the rally on Saturday against the protocol. The appointment is given this Saturday January 22 at 11 a.m. at Square Charles-de-Gaulle behind the Capitol. A gathering which is organized in agreement with the parents’ association the FCPE.
“My school is going to crack”
In the more rural departments, the intersyndicales failed to agree on a movement for like last week. So there will be towing, banners . In the Gers, we are preparing to put banners “My school is going to crack” on the gates of establishments. In the Tarn, the Aveyron, it will be towing between noon and two.
See you on January 27
The unions have especially in sight the movement of January 27th. UN public-private strike notice has been filed for a long time. And according to the teachers, the dissatisfaction around the health protocol will be relayed at the same time as the request for a salary increase. Marie Gascard, co-secretary of the SNUIPP union in Haute Garonne explains that there will be many teachers that day. “VSThis salary issue, for us at National Education, is also central. Because beyond the anger that was expressed on the 13th on the questions of protocol and management of the health crisis by Jean-Michel Blanquer, this question of wages is very important. There has been the issue of the index point freeze for many years. We have been losing purchasing power for more than ten years, with salaries for primary school teachers which are among the lowest in OECD countries.”
But above all, the competent teachers were very numerous mobilized that day to demand the departure of their minister _“For us, Jean-Michel Blanquer no longer has any authorization to be Minister of National Education and we are asking for his resignation. wants to have another interlocutor.” _A rally is planned in Toulouse at 2 p.m., at the labor exchange. this Thursday, January 20.
