Impossible challenge for Venice at San Siro against Inter: Zanetti relies on the talent of Nani and Cuisance
On Sunday, Venezia face an impossible away match against the Italian champions Inter. In the first leg, played at Penzo, Simone Inzaghi’s team won 2-0 with goals from Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez from a penalty. In the San Siro match – kick-off on Saturday 22 January at 18:00 – Zanetti shouldn’t have four players available of the rose struggling with Covid: the goalkeeper Romero, the defenders Mazzocchi and Haps and the forward Johnsen, while Svoboda returns after serving a round of disqualification against Empoli. Full-back Ebuehi is still absent engaged in the Africa Cup with Nigeria. The lagoons will be able to count on the contribution of the two new signings in January, which had a great impact in the last championship challenge, namely the French Cuisance and the Portuguese champion Nani. The orange and green could confirm part of the formation seen against Empoli with Lezzerini in goal, Ampadu, Caldara, Ceccaroni and Molinaro in defense; a Vacca midfield as a playmaker, flanked by Crnigoj and Cuisance; Aramu attacking midfielder and ahead of the couple Okereke and the French ram Henry. On the bench Nani and Busio will be the first options.
VENICE (4-3-1-2): Lezzerini; Ampadu, Caldara, Ceccaroni, Molinaro; Crnigoj, Vacca, Cuisance; Aramu; Henry, Okereke.
Coach: Zanetti.
