This step is to enable the creation of new capacities for primary education in this locality, which are currently in short supply. The capital will build a new building on the land it will acquire, which is attended by pupils with special educational needs.

“With the gradual development of the capital and population growth, there is insufficient capacity in some schools in some areas. Prospectively, Košíře in Prague 5 will be one of the most problematic places in this regard. The capital therefore came up with a proposed solution, which was discussed with the Prague 5 district. possibility of extension on neighboring lands, “says property councilor Jan Chabr.

“Ensuring sufficient capacity for children in primary schools is primarily the task of the city districts, but we at the municipality do not want to take responsibility either, because we will continue to try to help with this task. Negotiations with the city district of Prague 5 were, after all, very constructive after the first media misunderstandings, and I believe that this will continue to be the case. The children in Košíře do not deserve anything less, “says Vít Šimral, councilor for education.

At this place, however, Pod Radnicí 5 Elementary School, diluted by the capital, currently has one of its detached workplaces, which is attended by pupils with special educational needs. Therefore, the special school would move from there to new premises in the coming years, which would, on the contrary, be created after the reconstruction of the pavilion at the Nepomucká primary school.

Rada hl. As the first step in the planned shift, the City of Prague agreed on the intention of Monday’s meeting, according to which the city district of Prague 5, which is setting up the Nepomucká primary school, will acquire the entrusted property management of the V Cibulkách school facilities. In Prague 5, on the other hand, the properties in Nepomucká Street will be taken away, which will be handed over to the administration of the contributory organization of the Capital City of Prague, Pod Radnicí 5.

“I am very pleased that, after difficult negotiations, one of the best solutions has been found in my view. This is for the city district of Prague 5, for the municipality, and especially for children and parents on Cibulecký Hill, where a new school is needed, “adds Martin Damašek, Deputy Mayor of the City District of Prague 5.

The capital city will prepare a memorandum together with the city district, which will guarantee that the special school will have the required optimal conditions for pupils with special educational needs. Monday’s decision of the Prague Council has yet to be approved by the City Council. m of Prague.
