VIDEO. Habib’s mother, kidnapped by his father in Toulouse, has been fighting for eight years to find out the truth

Sugar Mizzy January 18, 2022

the essential
Habib Nedder, 13 months, was kidnapped on January 19, 2014 by his father in Toulouse. The body of the latter was then discovered in L’Hospitalet-Près-L’Andorre, in Ariège. But no trace of the child for eight years.

She is staggering with dignity and courage. Since January 19, 2014, Jennifer Dana has had no news of Habib, her son who was then 13 months old. Mehdi Nedder, father son who had custody of him in Toulouse, never brought the little boy back to his ex-partner. In April 2014, the headless body of Mehdi Nedder was discovered in Ariège, in L’Hospitalet-Près-L’Andorre. Clothes belonging to him were also found. But no trace of the baby. No stroller or bonnet, nothing.

After a certain number of investigations, the research brigade of Pamiers favors the thesis of the voluntary homicide of little Habib followed by a suicide. Very damaged by the waves, the body of the father would have been there for months, perhaps even from the end of January, the date of this double disappearance. A theory that does not adhere to Jennifer Dana who has lived for eight years with the weight of absence and nagging questions.

Habib should have celebrated his 9th birthday with his family on December 16, 2021.

“It is a fairly documented intuitive conviction but the case is at a standstill. Or, it exists and we don’t let go. Jennifer Dana is facing a terrible ordeal but she remains combative and determined to find her son. She is a remarkable young woman, despite a situation of extreme suffering. It is even an unprecedented suffering with, in addition, the mysterious circumstances of the discovery of the death of Habib’s father”, notes his lawyer, Me Laurent De Caunes, who calls for “better cooperation and coordination with the Algerian authorities. “.

“Habib was alive a month after his disappearance”

Algeria, a country where Habib is likely to be, according to factual elements released by Jennifer Dana who believes that Mehdi Nedder would have attributed their son to a third person before dying. There is also a fight that occurred after January 2014 towards L’Hospitalet which intrigues him. The witnesses who provided the “exact description” of Habib’s father.

“But no one showed my ex-boyfriend’s photo to these people to recover. Is it a suicide or a fight that degenerated? I do not know. Was he alive three months later, did he provide any accomplices? There are too many holes… It’s a complex file but for me, it’s more than a file: I only did that for three years. I collected testimonials on social networks, conclusive evidence that proves that Habib was alive a month after his disappearance. But this did not lead to a search or interrogation. It’s unfortunate, ”slips Jennifer Dana modestly.

In 2016, portraits showing the morphological evolution of the little boy were released by the Pamiers research brigade.

Since the investigation into the disappearance of Habib, opened in particular for kidnapping and forcible confinement, changed hands (also read below), the young woman was never received. “Sometimes I think they’ll call me. If it’s going to happen, it won’t be because the investigation was well conducted. Meeting me is still the minimum. So the young woman does everything she can to rebuild herself. She, who wanted to be a mother since she was 12, experienced the “most painful” ordeal of her life. With the temporary temptation to “stay connected to the past”.

Move forward, at all costs

Now settled in the Gers alongside her new spouse with whom she had a little boy, Jennifer Dana, juggles between her work as an assistant director of studies and her family life. She enrolled in psychology, gets along wonderfully with her sisters-in-law. However, not a year goes by without her posting a message in tribute to her “little clown”, born on December 16, 2012.

From the height of his 13 months, Habib was already a “little clown”, according to his mother.

“In a normal life, there are the holidays, the nanny, Christmas, my 30th birthday. I tell myself that he should have been with me. But you have to accept to tell yourself that he is not there. If he’s alive, we have to move at the same pace. I owe him that… He deserves to have a mom 100%, it’s impossible to stay in bed moping. Although of course, I still suffer from anxiety attacks. But I managed to split my life before and that of today. Fourteen years of domestic violence, it forges the character: I learned to fight. »

Survey update

Remained in the hands of two magistrates of the criminal center of Toulouse for years, the case of the disappearance of Habib Nedder is now entrusted to the investigating judge Vanessa Maury. Initially opened to the Pamiers research brigade, the investigation continues on the rogatory commission to the regional judicial police service (SRPJ). In addition to Jennifer Dana, the family of Mehdi Nedder, Habib’s father, also filed a civil action. She is represented by Me Assia Derbali.
