Budapest – Ninth and tenth graders with disadvantages and good academic results can apply for the monthly Apáczai scholarships of 16-34 thousand forints.
Gáborné Pölöskei, Deputy State Secretary for Vocational Training, announced this in a statement issued by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) on Tuesday.
In addition to financial incentives, the program also provides talent care support for young people with the involvement of mentors, from HUF 3 billion, he added.
The scholarship system developed during the strengthening of the vocational training system will be expanded with a new form of support from the second half of the 2021/2022 academic year. Under the Apáczai Scholarship Program, 9th and 10th graders with full-time vocational education in vocational schools and technical schools can receive special support. The amount of the benefit can vary between HUF 16,000 and HUF 34,000 per month, depending on the academic result. Detailed application conditions and documentation are available from the National Vocational and Adult Education Office or the IKK Innovative Training Support Center.
Since the autumn of 2020, students in vocational training have been entitled to a general scholarship of HUF 8-16 thousand per month, depending on the type of school. Apáczai Scholars also receive extra support and mentoring to unleash their talent, ITM recalls.
The government is making vocational training better, more flexible and more practical, and one of the basic conditions for this is greater appreciation of educators.
