Common political goals of the coalition are defined
They are based on the agreements that the SPD, Greens and Left Party made in the coalition agreement and define the common political goals of the three-party coalition for the new Senate term. Berlin’s Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey will then present the guidelines as part of a government statement at the next meeting in the House of Representatives on Thursday, January 27th. They then have to agree to the Berlin state parliament – but that should be a formality for the red-green-red majority. All members of the Senate must always adhere to the agreed guidelines.
Renewed advice on Corona measures
The corona pandemic will also be another topic at the Senate session on Tuesday. The decision to tighten the corona rules in Berlin was made last week. The FFP2 mask requirement and the 2G plus rule for gastronomy and cultural or sporting events, among other things, have been in effect since Saturday. The change in the quarantine rules decided by the federal-state meeting is already in effect. But the Senate still has to officially adapt the Infection Protection Ordinance at this point.
