Salzburg – Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 8:58 p.m
Austria’s champions Red Bull Salzburg put a stop to Brenden Aaronson’s departure for the time being.
As “The Athletic” reports, the Champions League round of 16 has rejected an offer of around 18 million euros from Leeds United for the 21-year-old American. However, the interest of the Premier League team should not dry up in the long term, the club from Yorkshire wants to continue working on a change.
Aaronson has a regular place in Matthias Jaissle’s starting eleven, after 26 competitive games he has three goals and seven assists. Aaronson moved to Salzburg from the Philadelphia Union a year ago.
According to “Athletic”, the MLS team, which was originally rumored to have received a transfer fee of around 5.5 million euros, is entitled to between 10 and 20 percent of the amount collected by Salzburg.
