Riedener and Pfiffner are allowed to go to Beijing – Liechtenstein
SCHAAN – Liechtenstein’s colors at the 24th Olympic Winter Games in February will be represented by skier Marco Pfiffner and cross-country skier Nina Riedener.
Less than 3 weeks before the opening ceremony of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games in Beijing, the LOC announces the Liechtenstein squad for the competitions. From February 4th, cross-country skier Nina Riedener and skier Marco Pfiffner will compete with the world’s best.
For Nina Riedener, participation is a first, while Marco Pfiffner is representing Liechtenstein at the Winter Olympics for the third time after Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018. The two athletes are accompanied by their coaches Pascal Hasler, Alpine Skiing, and Karoline Guidon, Nordic Skiing. As chef de mission, LOC competitive sports manager Christof Baer leads the delegation.
The Bobsleigh Association waives a selection application and thus also no participation in the games. The bobsleigh team was unable to secure a starting place and would have had to rely on other nations’ starting screens.
