Effect of the coronavirus
From the second quarter of 2020, a drop in prices was visible as a result of the corona virus, reports Pararius. Because expats stayed away and tourist rental came to a standstill, there was an increase in the rental offer. In order to provide vacant homes with new tenants, many homes were reduced in price. At the beginning of 2021, the expat market picked up again and rents started to rise again from the second quarter, according to the housing platform. Nevertheless, Pararius director Jasper de Groot expects that the current lockdown may lead to declining rents.
