Reading nights in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne
From January 20 to 23, the Departmental Council is taking part in the 6th edition of Reading Nights in cultural venues in Haute-Garonne.
The Departmental Council will take part in the 6th edition of Reading Nights, in two of its cultural venues, on the theme “Always love! Love again! “.
– On Friday January 21, the Departmental Media Library will exceptionally open its doors to the public from 6:30 p.m. with a reading-interpretation of the novel “Waiting for Bojangles” by Olivier Bourdeaut, by Pascale Bessard and Christophe Merle, accompanied by Livi on the piano, as well as ‘ “A shared reading session with librarians and volunteer readers”.
At 8 p.m., at the Departmental Media Library, Anne Boyer, Vice-President in charge of Culture, will award the “Citizen Library of the Year” prize, a prize initiated by the Departmental Council as part of the Departmental Public Reading Scheme and which each year rewards a library in the department that has taken action to transform libraries into “hybrid” places that carry civic values. 12 libraries were candidates this year for this prize in the municipalities of Belberaud, Daux, Cugnaux, Sainte-Foy d’Aigrefeuille, Castelnau d’Estretefonds, Le Fousseret, Cazères, Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze, Fronton, Le Fauga, Roques, Soueich.
– Saturday January 22, the Departmental Archives will offer 2 workshops between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the Toulouse site: “In the pocket”, to learn how to make and sew a book cover led by Margot Clémente from “En couture Simone” (adults) and “At the origins of writing”, to understand the mysterious signs of cuneiform writing with the artist and calligrapher Jean-Frédéric Crevon (from 8 years old).
From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the public will be invited to a nighttime visit of the Archives’ collections and stores, using a headlamp.
