Prague 8 has announced an architectural competition for the design of a school for 810 pupils
Prague – The City Hall of Prague 8 has announced a tender for the design of the planned primary school, which should stand on the Rohanské nábřeží. According to the architectural competition, the school was to serve 810 pupils. The estimated value of the contract is one million crowns excluding VAT, follows from the documents for the public contract.
According to the current plan, there should be 27 tribal classes in the new school in Karlín. I am also counting on building 12 specialized classes for teaching languages, natural sciences and other subjects, workshops for work activities and practice kitchens. The building should also have a hall, a library, premises for the club, cabinets and apartments for school staff. There should be three gyms and outdoor sports grounds. The school canteen and kitchen are also planned, in which it should be possible to cook 1,500 meals a day. The construction costs are now estimated at 670 million crowns without VAT, as stated in the tender.
Those interested in participating in the one-round competition can submit proposals until February 25. The proposals will be judged by a jury composed of architects Lada Kolaříková, Jan Kasl, Osama Okamura and Martin Rusina and the Mayor of Prague 8 Ondřej Gros (ODS).
Sekyra Group is now building a new district on Rohan Island, the construction of which should be completed by 2033. Eight office buildings and houses with approximately 3,200 flats should be built in five stages on the border of Karlín and Libeň. The project includes a kilometer-long coastal promenade, a primary school and a park.
The new primary school should grow, for example, in Komořany in Prague 12 and should be attended by about 810 pupils. According to an earlier statement by the mayor of Prague 12, Jan Adamec (Pirates), the school could open in 2026. The U Elektry primary school, which will have 33 classrooms, is now being built in Prague 9. The new building should be completed in 2023. The primary school also wants to build Prague 5 in Košíře.
