Realme’s Google TV stick is delayed
We were able to report at the end of last year that the Realme 4K TV Stick with Google TV will be released in the Netherlands. To date, the streaming device has not yet appeared here, despite the company aiming for “a release in December”. The suggested retail price was then also known: 69.99 euros.
A spokesperson for Realme now says android planet know that the company is experiencing delivery issues – and has not yet been able to release the Google TV Stick. The manufacturer states that the media player appears in the Netherlands. An unclear release date is unknown, but the company hopes to put the Chromecast competitor in stores this quarter.
The Realme stick is a direct competitor to the Chromecast with Google TV. The devices run on the same software (Google TV) and a remote control, so you can easily interface through the interface. Streaming goes in 4K, although a cheaper version of the Realme stick with full-HD support also appears.
Streaming dongles in the Netherlands
For years, the Chromecast has been the way in which videos, series and films can be streamed to your television. However, you have a lot of choice of HDMI dongles. In addition to the Chromecast with Google TV, you have an alternative from Realme, but Xiaomi has also been selling a TV stick for a while. However, it runs on Android TV, the ‘precursor’ of Google TV.
Since the end of the year, Amazon has also been selling its Fire TV Sticks in the Netherlands. These devices are popular abroad and use software from Amazon itself. However, good apps are available from the current streaming services. Knowing more? We recently tested the Amazon device and in the Amazon Fire TV Stick review you can read exactly what to expect.
