Football: Giampaolo to Sampdoria, announcement awaited – Liguria

Transfer market, Watford asks for Thorsby, Sensi arrives on loan from Inter

(ANSA) – GENOA, 18 JAN – Marco Giampaolo will arrive tonight in Genoa and tomorrow there will be the official announcement of his return to Sampdoria where he had already coached from 2016 to 2019.
He will probably lead the first training session towards Sunday’s match away to La Spezia.
Tonight the coach from Bellinzona will follow Sampdoria in the first knockout round of the Coppa Italia in Turin with Juve but already today he has watched the latest Sampdoria matches all day by studying in depth the squad available. And he has already spoken with the transfer market men, Carlo Osti and Daniele Faggiano, to set the strategies. Certainly Stefano Sensi will arrive on loan from Inter while looking for an attacking midfielder, who is missing today in the team, in order to be able to propose that 4-3-1-2 that Giampaolo had already used in his first adventure at Sampdoria.
Meanwhile, requests for the Norwegian Morten Thorsby are still arriving in the Sampdoria home, in particular from Watford coached by former Sampdoria coach Claudio Ranieri who knows the boy very well. The English club has carried out the first polls, in the next few days the official offer is expected but it must be at least 10 million euros otherwise the midfielder will not move from Genoa. Thorsby is one of the precious pieces of the team and therefore will only go away in the presence of an important sign. Valerio Verre is definitely coming out with the Salernitana that you got the better of Cagliari and Empoli.
