Bulgaria is fifth in growth in sales of new cars in the EU in 2021 :: Investor.bg

Sale of new cars in Bulgaria increased by 9.7% in 2021 up to 24,537 in the direction of 22,368 years before. For the whole year our country ranks fifth place by cross in the Low Union (EU) after Croatia (+ 24.7%), Greece (+ 24.6%), Estonia (+ 19.1%) and Ireland (18.5%), according to European data Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).

For December, the highest growth recorded again Croatia – 19.3%.
Car manufacturers
Although the German concern Volkswagen Group With a 4.8 percent drop in sales in 2021 to 2,437,110 vehicles targeting 2,561,159 vehicles in 2020, the company managed to maintain the best position in the European market with a share of 25.1%. In December, the group’s sales decreased by 31.6% to 185,942 units compared to 271,718 units in 2020, as the market share increased from 26.4% to 23.4%.
The brand that performs best within VW is Porsche. The premium car brand reports 8% growth in 2021 and a 41.3% increase in sales in December. Despite the declines of the brand, VW remains the leader in Europe with a market share for 2021 of 11.2%.
Formed at the beginning of the year by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group Stelantis remains second in market share in Europe. Sales ì for 2021 decreased by 2.1% to 2,124,269 units in the direction of 2,169,659 units for 2020. The market share reached 21.9%. In December, the group’s sales shrank from 25 to 160,209 units, targeting 213,510 units for the previous year.
Among its brands, Peugeot managed to replace Renault as part of a popular car brand in the EU after VW.
The French concern Renault Group is the third largest market share in the EU with sales in 2021 of 1,028,925, which is a share of 10.2% compared to 2020, when 1,145,881 sales were reported. The company’s share of the European market reaches 10.6%.
Renault is followed by Hyundai Group, whose market shares are up to 8.5% compared to 7 years ago. Sales of the South Korean concern for 2021 increased by 18.4% to 828,337 vehicles compared to 699,858 cars a year earlier.
They follow BWM (share of 6.8%), Toyota (6.3%), Daimler (5.6%), Ford (4.1%) and Volvo (2.3%).
