Belarus proved that there was no Ryanair interception – OfficeLife
Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus
Belarus found out by ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) that there was no interception by Ryanair, flying on the Athens-Vilnius route on May 23, 2021, in the airspace of our country. This was stated by the director of the department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications Artem Sikorsky on January 18.
Sikorsky submitted that on the evening of January 17, the Operations Department received an ICAO working paper with an attachment to the group’s deleted fact-finding report on the events of May 23, 2021. Belarusian specialists are now analyzing the report, identifying inaccuracies that need to be corrected. The final settlement of the ICAO report is scheduled for the session of the working organization on 31 January.
The Ministry of Transport considers the triumphant fact that ICAO confirmed its confidence that Ryanair was not forced to land or change the route.
Unfortunately, the record of the aircraft crew has not been preserved. As a result, there is no objective control data and no audio recording of the moment when the decision to land in Minsk was made.
This looks strange.
He added that the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Transport is considering complaints from Belarus about the illegal action of South America, which introduced a meeting with respect to the Belarusian civil aviation.
ICAO announces that it has submitted a report on participation in the Ryanair aircraft in Belarus to all 193 States representatives of the organization, which includes 36 States currently elected on the ICAO Council.
Earlier it was reported that the Ryanair plane lost an unscheduled landing in Minsk. Blogger Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend Sofya Sapega are at the ready, they were detained and charged in criminal cases.
