What needs to change? – Leader Magazine
Until the day of the legislative elections, January 30th, Líder will publish daily as opinions and contributions from various personalities launched the challenge of answering the question: What needs to change?
Men, women, youth, seniors, caucasians, blacks, believers and non-believers, whatever their sexual orientation, they will have their say in the Leader and will be able to. In fact, this initiative follows an initiative published by another media organization where only the opinion of men was reflected, 14 men.
The justification was the absence of responses from women. Líder contacted 14 women and 12 responded. The participation rate was 85.7%. We’ll follow up with 14 more from each of the personality groups.
At Líder, the cover is for Everyone.

Conquering the world replacing like Caravels with Digital Channels
Portugal is a country, with a history of heroes made of enormous courage, of men who risk extraordinarily with their lives to set out on adventure, across seas never sailed before. This courage, fueled by the mission to discover new lands and new riches, aimed to build a more promising future and a stronger and more sustainable economy. And it was these fearless men who made Portugal, a small country, in a larger dimensionV, at a time when the sea nation was characterized as an alternative to exports more world nation or historical and distant and only the last of raw configurations and riches .
This DNA of courage and reinvention of ours has been disappearing over the centuries, with the country living today in a situation of economic, cultural and social stagnation.
It is imperative, therefore, that we manage to recover this spirit that forces us to reinvent, to take risks, to be guided by excellence, in order to win as the largest nation in the world. Today, conquered international markets without leaving home. The digital revolution replaced caravels with PCs, and a pandemic increased this transformation and boosted the possible gains that come from it.
Portugal should experience this pandemic crisis following Churchill’s teachings – “Never waste a good crisis”. For this, it is to promote a strategy, at the national level, the promotion of both public and public sectors in order to create wealth and points where we can present competitive initiatives.
After the last few years in Tourism, it was a winner and is proof that focus and consistency allow us to conquer “seas never sailed before”. We should analyze this success story, which reflects a strong commitment by the private sector through consistent and transversal public policies across the various governments. And we should apply it to other areas where Portugal can take on a viable and competitive alternative. Clearly, one of the most obvious is technology, where our size and scale are not critical success factors. In addition, we have the advantage of international recognition and the credibility of our universities and our talent. In fact, this recognition of our talent is so high that it contributed to their exodus to other countries, where they get better conditions and a guarantee of capturing more available wealth.
Web 3.0 is already a reality and a paradigm shift at various levels, technological, economic, social, cultural. Technological democratization allows, opens up unimaginable opportunities and, from the outset, anyone can extract wealth without needing to have a traditional labor contract. And, anyone can create wealth in Portugal from anywhere in the world.
Portugal has all the conditions to assume itself as a player important in this web 3.0. In fact, a small country like ours has already assumed its credibility to have 5 unicorns, proof that the DNA of excellence and world conquest does not flow.
In order for us to be a player 3.0 is urgently elected to go beyond the cycles and have the courage to reform tax and labor laws to contribute to a corporate culture of excellence, greater, greater profitability of available wealth and predictability in relation to that wealth (both for companies and employees). In this way, not only our talented country of quality, even more importantly our international talent as of quality, retaining our international talent of quality equals, again, as a nation of reference at an international level.
A bet on web 3.0 could also benefit economic agents in more traditional sectors. These, regardless of their size, have already started their business transformation path and still need to accelerate their digital transition process. 3.0 can also benefit those who can rethink these in light of “new speeds” web, taking a direct leap into their new endeavor vs the competition.
Our country is reborn with the attitude of courage and reinvention of each of our Portuguese, similar to our needy ancestors, based on a strong and healthy private sector, and on stable public policies that foster this competitive economy. Thus, they will once again be larger worlds of courageous and bold conquerors (of wealth).
