San Marino. USOT against the latest anti-Covid decree: “incomprehensibly punitive towards the activities of our sector”
“USOT, as already represented to the Government in the two meetings that preceded the issuance of Law Decree No. 3 of 2022, underlines the incongruity and unreasonableness of the provisions for the economic activities of the administration of food and beverages that we represent in quality of employers’ association recognized by law and more representative of the sector’s operators “.
And he adds: “An incomprehensibly punitive Law Decree towards the activities of our Sector which, against the evidence of the facts, are identified by the Government as the only source of contagion and spread of the virus. An attitude of the government that is repeated after the disaster that took place last winter when last, with frantic enunciations with the decree laws (n ° 217/2020 and n ° 221/2020), we have gone from the total liberalization proclaimed in the Italian national newspapers by the Executive shortly after mid-December to the substantial lockdown proclaimed on 22 December for bars and restaurants. The evidence of the facts, referred to above, has clearly (for all restaurants but not for the government) highlighted that the closure of bars has favored dinners, parties, meetings at private homes with a peak of infections detected later , coincidentally, from mid-January 2021 onwards.
We have tried in every way to make the Government understand that it was absolutely unacceptable and economically unsustainable that the introduction of the Enhanced Green Pass will not remove the heavy ones which includes the spacing between tables and the maximum number of people (four) at the same table. Furthermore, these taxes are absent in Italy and which will only favor the frequentation of our fellow citizens rather than ours. Furthermore, in the face of these burdens, no kind of aid or refreshment has been hypothesized nor provided after those, substantially non-existent, of last year.
Absolutely unacceptable and incomprehensible how other activities (for example hairdressers, beauty salons, gyms … etc.) are considered by the Government as places so safer that neither for customers nor for employees / operators exists the danger of contagion or broadcast present in bars and restaurants.
The difficult situation of San Marino healthcare cannot be justified by 15 hospitalizations (3 intensive therapies) and it is ridiculous, if there were no crying, to think that by magically punishing and penalizing bars and restaurants our fellow citizens will find health centers and general practitioners again efficient.
Finally, we are absolutely offensive to justify (or self-justify) measures lacking common sense and political vision, behind the fact that in the summer months Hotels, Restaurants and Bars “worked”. As if one should be ashamed if a company and an entrepreneur can work, perhaps make a profit, to invest in the company and pay taxes. Taxes that, unfortunately, mainly serve to maintain 87% of the total expenditure for a public car with a current financial expenditure and an absolute lack, in spending for 2022, of strategic infrastructure projects for the development of tourism and the San Marino economy. in general”.
