554, is the number of classes closed within the Toulouse Academy. In a press release, the rectorate takes stock. the Friday, January 14 at 1 p.m., Itoulouse academy count its 554 classes closed against 164 classes closed on January 6.

Eight school structures closed

After two weeks of resuming classes, eight school structures are closed, i.e. six schools, a college and a high school. When on January 6 the rectorate assigned 1,486 students declared positive, the situation seems to have worsened with a total of 16,698 positive Friday January 14. This represents 3.1% of students enrolled within the Academy of Toulouse.

The same pattern is observed for staff. During the last update on the situation on Thursday, January 6, 142 staff were declared positive for the virus against 2,322 this Friday. This last number represents 4.4% of the 52,301 staff of the rector.

The department of Haute-Garonne most affected in Occitania

In its latest bulletin on the situation, the rectorate gives the number of classes closed by department. Haute-Garonne comes first with 301 classes closed. The detail specifies that 295 classes are closed in schools, five in college and one in high schools. Two schools are also closed in the department.

the Tarn come second with 107 classes closed and one college closed. It is followed by Tarn-et-Garonne with 58 classes closed in schools. Three schools are also closed in the department. Three departments are the least impacted with only three classes closed in Aveyron, eleven for Lot and 16 for Hautes-Pyrénées.
