Matthias Martelli brings Dario Fo’s “Mistero buffo” to the stage tomorrow in San Marino
“Mistero buffo”, the famous show by Dario Fo, will be staged tomorrow evening by Matthias Martelli in the Republic of San Marino.
Tuesday 18 January at 9 pm, to the Titano Theater, a new appointment with the 2021/2022 season of San Marino Teatro: on stage “Funny Mystery”, iconic text by the couple Dario Fo and Franca Rame, staged by Matthias Martelli. He made it known in a press release Cultural Institutes of the Republic of San Marino.
Eugenio Allegri conducts with skill and wisdom Mattia Martelli in this hilarious popular jester that has been the model for the great storytelling theater of the last twenty years by leveraging on the talented acting prerogatives of Martelli.
The actor is alone on stage, without tricks, with the intention of involving the audience in the dramatic action, passing in a flash from comic lasso to poetry, up to human and social tragedy. A new and original language and interpretation, in the name of the tradition of a genre used by medieval jesters to overturn the triumphant ideology of the time, demonstrating its groundlessness. “Mistero Buffo” is the most famous text by Dario Fo, a show that has consigned its author-actor’s name to history.
With this masterpiece, Fo takes up a genre used by medieval jesters to overturn the triumphant ideology of the time, demonstrating its groundlessness: starting from the language built on sound, on onomatopoeias, on changes of rhythm, he comes to do justice to that world of dispossessed, of subordinates, of madmen, of dreamers, of drunks, of losers, who today as then wanted a revenge, as the motivation of the Nobel prize attributed to him in 1997: “To Dario Fo… because, following the tradition of medieval jesters, he mocked power by restoring dignity to the oppressed”.
Tickets will be on sale online on the website www.sanmarinoteatro.sm or at the ticket office of the Titano Theater from 5 pm to 9 pm on the day of the show.
It is now possible to buy tickets for the shows in January 2022. The seats will be alternative and the entrance to the theater is allowed only with the Reinforced Green Pass and with FFP2 mask.
