Florence, Maggio Musicale: debut with success “Die Fledermaus” (“The bat”) by Strauss
Florence – He made his debut with success at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Dying Fledermaus, or The bat, famous and effervescent composition by Johann Strauss jr. on a libretto (very funny) by Carl Haffner and Richard Genée; celebrated by the public (somewhat decimated by the quarantines and above all, perhaps, by fear, but more numerous than the numbers of the pandemic made fear) the director Zubin Mehta, who fulfills the desire to bring to the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, for the first time with the local artistic masses, this perfect Viennese operetta, he who studied and debuted in Vienna. The cast consists largely of specialists: the Austrians Markus Werba in the role of Gabriel von Eisentstein and Reinhard Mayr in that of Frank, Olga Bezsmertna (Rosalinde), Ukrainian by birth, but who started her career in Vienna; the Swiss Regula Mühlemann, much appreciated by the public in the role of Adele; the Greek Alex Tsilogiannis (Alfred) was in the role in the role, but it would not have been said; the Frosch by Robert Meyer, Bavarian by birth, but since 2007 artistic director of the Volksoper in Vienna (and who has also interpreted the role at the Wiener Staatsoper) was very successful; also Austrian director Josef Ernst Köpplinger; pleasant scenes by Rainer Sinell. On the other hand, there was no cameo by Rudolf Buchbinder during the feast of Prince Orlofsky, because on the day of the premiere at 14 the famous Austrian pianist received the response of the swab made in the morning: positive.
