Athens is “boiling” with 4,468 new infections
in Athena cases today have a higher number of infections, according to the epidemiological report.
Specifically, the Central sector remains first in cases, followed by the West. In fact, North and South “boil” with exactly the same number of infections.
So today, Monday 17 January, EODY operates 18,834 new cases, 101 dead from coronavirus and 627 intubated in hospitals.
Of the 18,834 infections, in Athena are located 4,468 cases and are distributed as follows:

“The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 18,834, of which 45 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases is 1,679,705
(daily change + 1.1%), of which 49.8% men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 473 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,148 are related to an already known case.
The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 101, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 22,087 deaths have been recorded. 95.1% had underlying meaning and / or age 70 years and older.
The number of patients treated intubated is 672 (59.5% men). Their median age is 65 years. In 79.2% it has an underlying meaning and / or age 70 years and over. Among intubated patients, 549 (81.7%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 123 (18.3%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,904 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 472 (daily change -16.16%). The average seven-day admission is 555 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
