A man was shot dead Monday evening in Marseille, in a city in the northern districts of the city known to host a very lucrative drug trafficking network, according to the police headquarters.
The facts took place around 8:30 p.m. in the city of Olives, in the 13th arrondissement of the second city of France, said the prefecture, confirming the initial information of the daily Provence. A drug-related settling of scores?
On January 4 around noon, a 21-year-old man was shot and killed by at least two individuals, when he found himself at a florist in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille. The victim “did not have a criminal record”, but the Marseille prosecutor’s office had noted that it was a “modus operandi resembling a settlement of scores” linked to drug trafficking.
In 2021, fifteen people died in settling of accounts linked to drug trafficking in the Bouches-du-Rhône, according to the latest figures from the police headquarters.
