Tuscany at risk of the orange zone, what would change
The 30% saturation parameter for ordinary Covid beds has not yet been reached. The restrictions would only affect the unvaccinated
FLORENCE – Two out of three parameters already place the Tuscany in orange zone, that is, weekly incidence over 150 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (we are at 2,307, according to data up to yesterday) and places in intensive care occupied for over 20% (we are at 21.6% with 123 places occupied).
To keep Tuscany still yellow is the saturation reach of ordinary Covid beds: for the transition to orange it owes 30%, currently it is al 24.4% with 1,226 beds occupied.
It is possible that the passage in orange already happens the next week, the one that starts on January 24? Difficult to predict, what can be said is that hospitalizations could further increase given that from the end of December the infections have a dizzying growth due to Omicron immediately and, as we have learned in these two years of impact on hospitals in the 2-3 weeks following.
In the week from 9 to 15 January, hospitalizations in the ordinary area went from 1,036 to 1,226, 190 more, about 4 percentage points. In intensive care from 115 to 123.
Meanwhile, deaths from Covid have increased, steadily in double figures for a few days.
The Regions have asked the Government not to consider asymptomatic patients in the bulletin who have entered the hospital for other diseases and have found that they are positive for coronavirus without however needing treatment. By rate an example: who is positive but asymptomatic and is hospitalized with a fracture in a leg should not be counted as an ordinary occupied Covid bed. If the request of the Regions is accepted by the Government, the numbers of admissions could deflate and the possibility of ending up in the orange zone and moving away.
What would change in the orange zone. It wouldn’t change much for people to vaccinate because the restrictions it’s going to hit me not vaccinated. Those who have the super green passage (green certificate issued for vaccination or recovery from Covid) can practically pretend to be still in the white or yellow zone. Transportation drops from 80% to 50% capacity (but even here the Regions have asked the government to remove this provision).
The restrictions for the not vaccinated in Zone Orange: for those who do not have the super green pass, travel with their own vehicle to other Municipalities of the same Region or to other Regions are allowed only for work, necessity, health or to reach services that are not available in their Municipality (self-certification is required) .
